Baker v. Jewel Food Stores & Dominick's Finer Foods
In Baker v. Jewel Food Stores and Dominick's Finer Foods, a class action lawsuit involving milk prices in the nine-county Chicago Metropolitan area, Hilsoft Notifications was asked to notify more than five million milk purchasers that the class was certified for trial.
Due to the considerable size of the Chicago Metropolitan area, it was necessary for Hilsoft to design a notice campaign that did not exclude anyone, including the large minority population.
In order to accomplish such a large task, Hilsoft chose to work directly with numerous African American, Hispanic, and mainstream publications. Notice was provided in English and Spanish through newspapers, radio and metro edition magazines. The extensive media effort gave a large percentage of class members the opportunity to see and/or hear the notice and learn about their rights and options.
