Notice Example

The In re TJX Companies Retail Securities Breach Litigation included U.S., Puerto Rican and Canadian class members that needed to be informed about a settlement involving a computer system intrusion into personal and financial information at the stores.  The Notice Program that we designed used a variety of notification methods. Notices appeared in English, Spanish and French in order to effectively reach class members who shopped at TJX stores. The notice program relied upon a multi-national publication effort, a multi-national informational press release, individual notice to known class members, and a settlement website.  Overall, the notice effort was successful in that it reached over 80% of U.S. and Canadian class members, who had multiple opportunities to see the notice. The notices provided information about the settlement in clear, concise language, including all of the rights, options and benefits available to class members.
